Infill - House in Gotanda

Designed by Go Hasegawa, the House in Gotanda challenges the limitations of a corner lot measuring just 46 square meters. Dividing the building into two volumes, Hasegawa created a 1.2-meter-wide space in between. This narrow space serves as both the entry hall and stairwell, made bright and airy with a glass roof. Hasegawa's clever use of space, light, and materials showcases how architecture can transform a smallcorner lot into a harmonious living space.

Innovation - Civil Architecture reimagines the sundial

Kuwait- and Bahrain-based Civil Architecture has created a sundial at the Islamic Arts Biennale in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, that aims to question our relationship with time. The installation consists of numerous obelisks, placed on a grid within the desert-like landscape, that will each act as hour markers. Each of the structures stands on paved plinths that act as "fragments of a calendar" and are painted with events that will take place during the day and the biennale.

Designer - London Design Festival

London Design Festival was launched by Sir John Sorrell CBE and Ben Evans CBE in 2003. Building on London’s existing design activity, their concept was to create an annual event that would promote the city’s creativity, drawing in the country’s greatest thinkers, practitioners, retailers and educators to a deliver an unmissable celebration of design. The next edition will take place on 16–24 September 2023.
