Atlanta Shipping Container Bar Concept

A shipping container bar and restaurant concept for a new multi-family project in Atlanta’s West Midtown district has been envisioned for the burgeoning Star Metals community. The two-level modular shipping container project will be located on the southern terrace of a multi-family building that is currently under construction.

Virgil Abloh: The Codes

The visionary American designer’s archive goes on display this week at Paris’ Grand Palais in a new exhibition, ‘Virgil Abloh: The Codes’, giving an insight into his polymathic approach. The exhibiton tells the story of his singular career through 1,000 objects and designs. Brought to life by Nike and the Virgil Abloh Archive, it assembles many of his most significant works, spanning two decades (as well as posthumous projects) and the late designer’s prismatic interests. The display opened on 30 September – the designer’s birthday, when he would have turned 45 – and runs until 9 October 2025.

Zedwell Capsule Hotel

With nearly 1,000 capsules across five floors, Zedwell Capsule Hotel Piccadilly Circus promise cocoon-like calm above the city’s loudest square. London-based Zedwell has unveiled what it claims to be the world’s largest capsule hotel: nearly 1,000 sleeping pods stacked across five floors above Piccadilly Circus. Housed within the former London Pavilion (a Grade II-listed landmark dating back to 1859), the project reflects the group’s ethos of adaptive reuse, favouring the reinvention of historic structures over new builds.

Inside, each dormitory spans from eight to 100 capsules. Each pod is lined with oak, kitted out with a Hypnos mattress and Egyptian cotton sheets, and fitted with ambient lighting and climate control. There are no windows: a deliberate decision, intended both to dampen the roar of the city below and to cut energy use. Shared lounges, co-working areas and communal bathrooms round out the offering, while female-only dorms and rentable extras (towels, padlocks) point to the pragmatic origins of the capsule.

His latest work centers on a vintage Porsche—once scorched and skeletal from the Los Angeles fires - now rebuilt using stained glass windows salvaged from decommissioned churches. The result is not a restoration, but a resurrection.
