Ethan Royal
Co-Founder

Ethan Royal studied architecture at the Oxford School of Architecture, Oxford, England and the Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London, England.

Before obtaining his architecture diploma, Ethan traveled to numerous countries to research architectural vernaculars and practice methodologies throughout India, Nepal, South East Asia and Australia. After his studies in London, Ethan relocated to the USA and joined the internationally acclaimed office of Arquitectonica and worked on luxury residential condominium and retail projects.

In 2005, Ethan joined ADDInc, a Boston based architecture and interior design firm, to assist with the opening of their Miami office and lead the design of their retail projects. In 2010, Ethan received his license to practice Architecture and solidified the architecture and design firm of RoyalByckovas (R&B), in partnership with Ruslanas Byckovas.

In 2012, R&B was invited to collaborate with Terrance Riley, former Philip Johnson Chief Curator of Architecture and Design at The Museum of Modern Art, NYC, to assist with the programming phases of a Museological complex in Hangzhou, China. The collaboration was highly successful and the team subsequently provided architectural design services on the Architecture Museum building and ultimately won an open competition to design and curate the exhibits of the Architecture Museum, the primary building within the campus. Other internationally regarded architectural design firms such as Herzog de Meuron, David Chipperfield Architects and Steven Holl Architects were also selected to design various components of the development.

Ethan focuses on R&B’s business development and growth while directing all active projects which comprise of high-end residential, mixed use and cultural / civic developments. Ethan currently  leads R&B Architecture and Design and it’s modular research organization, Wyn-Box.

Ethan is a licensed architect in Florida, Georgia and North Carolina and is a LEED-accredited  professional. He holds an NCARB Certificate and is a member of the American Institute of Architects, the Urban Land Institute, ULI Atlanta’s Creative Development Council and is a graduate of the 2020 ULI Atlanta Center for Leadership Program.

Ruslanas Byckovas
Co-Founder

Ruslanas graduated with his master’s degree in Interior Architecture from RISD, Providence, Rhode Island and completed his bachelor and post graduate studies at Vilnius Gedimino Technical University, Vilnius, Lithuania. 

During his academic studies, Ruslanas travelled extensively across Europe and the Middle East to further expand his architectural and cultural knowledge and interned at several architectural and design firms.  In 2000, Ruslanas moved to Providence, Rhode Island to attend RISD’s graduate program and joined an award winning office of Donald S. Richardson & Associates where he was the project architect on multiple high-end residential and institutional buildings. 

In July 2004, Ruslanas relocated to Miami, Florida to join Arquitectonica where he worked alongside the firm principal, Bernardo Fort-Brescia, on many international mixed-use, residential, hospitality and urban planning projects. During his associate tenure with the firm, Rizzy led many projects throughout the United States, Argentina, Dominican Republic, Italy, Lebanon, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates.

In 2010 he partnered with Ethan Royal to start RoyalByckovas (R&B). Since the company’s inception, Ruslanas has led the design and construction of all projects and oversees the Miami office of R&B and it’s modular research collaborative, Wyn-Box.

Ruslanas is a member of the ULI and is a graduate of the 2019 South Florida Center for Leadership Program. He also serves on the Community Enhancement Advisory Board with the City of North Bay Village, Miami.

 

Alex Ayala Mora
Designer

Alejandro Ayala has over 18 years of professional experience developing architectural projects as an architectural designer and 3D Artist.  Prior to joining R&B, Alejandro has worked with the Spanish offices of BG studio and Murad Garcia as a 3D artist and project manager. Alejandro’s experience has crossed over many different building types and he has led numerous projects in the design sectors of private and public residential housing, education, civic, hospitality and international competitions. 

Alejandro received his bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the Oxford School of Architecture and received his Diploma in Architecture from the Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London.
