The importance of this heritage and architectural context has informed a proposal for a new addition to the property. A luxury boutique 25 key hotel will be constructed on the adjacent vacant properties and expand the cultural programming of the historic residence, which currently operates as an art gallery and events space.

The design approach to the new architectural intervention aims to capture the spirit of Villa Paula through a contemporary interpretation of its defining motifs. Through meticulous study and reverence for its vernacular, the proposed hotel

building captures the key features that define the essence of Villa Paula.

Villa Paula’s graceful arched openings or "elliptical fanlights" are embodied within the proposed architecture. Such timeless features weave together an intricate narrative of opulence and grace and set the stage for a dialogue between the past and the future.

5811 NMA is a testament to the fusion of time-honored aesthetics and contemporary sensibilities.
